Itinerary

  1. 1
    Runners Adventures

5 hr - Your tour starts with an air-conditioned ride from your resort to take you to the northern coast and the mountainous landscape of Punta Rucia. This quaint fishing village features a gorgeous soft sand beach nestled among the green tropical mountains. But you’re not staying here long. Instead, board a luxury catamaran and pass through the area’s flora and fauna in a natural mangrove waterway that opens to a turquoise blue sea dotted with coral reefs. The journey to Cayo Arena could even afford you a glimpse of the manatees that call the Dominican mangroves home, as well as dolphins at play in the sea.

  2. 2
    Punta Rucia

Stop by the beach to take a ride on our boat towards to Cayo Arena

  3. 3
    Cayo Arena

5 hr - Halfway to your destiny, hop in a natural pool in the middle of the ocean, where you will enjoy great champagne, served by the attentive staff. Once arriving at Cayo Arena, your boat will drop anchor and you’ll have a chance to swim in the warm sea. Snorkel above the coral and take in the colorful fish and sea life swimming beneath the water that’s practically crystal clear. Then swim up to the island’s beach, where a traditional Dominican buffet lunch will be provided for your visit. You’ll have time to soak in the sun as you drink a cold one right on the sand before sailing back to Punta Rucia, and your awaiting vehicle will take you back to your resort at the end of a relaxing day. Phenomenal excursion and tour company!

The entire trip was beyond expectations! Our tour guide Julio was so informative on the rides to/from. Our driver Roberto got us there fast and safely! The boat crew was amazing! The snorkeling was very good and the lunch when we returned was delicious. I would highly recommend Runners tour group and the Catamaran tour to Paradise Island. We will definitely use them again if we can! 5-star!!!!

Awesome day

Started the day early getting picked up at our hotel at 8am. Took a hour and half bus ride which gives you a good opportunity to see the countryside. I don't think there are any straight flat roads in the country but it was a fun ride. Got to a small village were the catamaran was waiting for us sitting in a gorgeous bay. After boarding we were greeted with a drink and food while we traveled to our first stop. Our first stop was in the middle of the ocean on a protected area that was about waist deep and were served champagne while floating around having our pictures taken by the paparazzi. He takes pictures the whole trip and is worth the cost to get them, there where close to 100 pictures of just us by the time it was done and they delivered them on a usb stick to our hotel the next day. Our next stop was on Cayo Arena and it is an amazing sight in itself seeing this sandbar out in the middle of nowhere. They backed the boat up and we got off on they little island. They supplied the snorkeling gear, food and drink and gave you a guided tour around the reef and took you out over the drop off where the sea floor just disappears below you. After about an hour or so we boarded the boat again and headed to the mangroves and we got a quick tour before heading to the restaurant for lunch. It was a little building just sitting on the beach by itself and the boat backed up and let us off. We were given a delicious meal of bbq lobster tail and pork chops with rice and vegetables did I mention it was delicious. After lunch we got back on the bus and headed back with a stop at a store that gives you a quick lesson on cigar making and sells Larimar jewelry. The whole credit thing was new to me having nut been to the Dominican before but if you didn't bring enough money with you you could still purchase something and pay the guide when you get back to the hotel. It was an absolutely awesome day worth the money. Just a tip for anyone flying Sunwing if you purchase the excursion on the plane you'll save a few bucks.
